While we were away, our neighbor Kathleen said we got as much snow as she's seen in 3 years, about six inches. We were sorry to have missed that. (During that same storm, I got stuck overnight at a truckstop on the way to Peach Springs, but that's another story).
When we got to the land, the roads were wet and squishy, and it was a little like Mr. Toad's Wild Ride to get in. But there was still some snow on the ground, and we were glad we got to see it.

We were pleased to see the progress on the siding while we were away. Our crew returned to finish up on Saturday. They finished installing the bats on the back of the house.

By the time we left on Saturday, they were just finishing the last of the porch roof.

Gerald had put together a framework for a porch cover over the back door, and they installed that, too.

Here's what the east side of the house looked like on Saturday afternoon. We still had to install the siding on the lower parts, but we could really start to get a sense of what the house would look like when it was finished.
