There's Nothing Like a Deadline

In October, we got an offer on our Mesa house. The house had been on the market for nearly six months, with little activity and we had begun to despair that it would ever sell. But when we did get a good offer, we realized how much we needed to do before we could move our furniture into the house. It really set our priorities, and we spent every free minute up at the land trying to get it done. Most of the work that needed to be done was upstairs.

We started with the brickwork on the fireplaces.

Once all the brickwork was done, we were ready to start on the floors.
Time and budget being an issue, we decided to use the same finish for most of the upstairs as we had used in the downstairs master closet. We began by putting smooth MDF on the floor.
Next, we sealed the cracks with drywall tape and drywall mud.
